I think the fandom WANTS her anger to be related to the abuse she experienced at Damon’s hands in Season 1. Because the show NEVER even tries to address it, the audience kind of uses her S4 reactions to Delena as Caroline’s de facto revenge/reaction to Damon’s abuse. How anyone would read Caroline as supportive of DE I have no idea. Caroline only stop hating on DE when she started chasing after Stefan in s6. Stefan wanted to marry Caroline (Ngl, wasn’t a fan of that relationship), but still made Damon his first priority. Yeah makes sense to take care of your brother when he’s in trouble and needs it, but Stefan’s default shouldn’t be Damon.
